I have never owned a property in America and never plan to at this point. About 3 years ago when I was 25 years old I had thought about buying investment real estate In the Chicago-land area which I am glad I avoided now. Investments in America will continue to become a hassle and not worth all the effort in the future.

@dlukton Yes precisely and I know this from my parents who own property in the Chicago-land area. Real estate taxes and home owner fees are so high even for 200K to 300K house in a decent suburb.
