  16. Very good video. I had started living abroad before I even watched Youtube and had heard the concept of a digital nomad or travel blogger, that was in 2012. I first lived in Chile as a student, worker for 2 years as a university student. Similar to yourself much of my interest in living abroad had to do with lifestyle and preference to live outside USA. It had very little to do with work, taxes, ect... and overtime realized I preferred to be outside the country, just did not like living in Chile after 2 years. From this experience and being back in USA I realized eastern Europe was a better fit for me with the type of person I was and after being in North eastern Europe (Russia, Estonia) for a 1.5 years know this part of the world is a better fit for me now but this first experience was so pivotal in choosing eastern Europe over South America. Looking back I am so glad I left South America and realize now just how impractical it would have been for me long term. So many people point out the nice weather of South America but overlook so many aspects of their society that are not very practical for a foreign person. Likewise, people will point out the climate system in Estonia and Karelian province of Russia (i.e. St. Petersburg) and I am like I will take this climate anyday along with all the other aspects of these places. It does not hurt either, I have a liking for blond and brunette Russian women lol, another story for another time. The key point for everyone to understand here is pick what is comfortable for you not anyone else, people are all different. Also, understand if you don't like a place within first few months of living in that country, it is unlikely to improve and will likely get worse over time. Have a nice weekend all!

  19. Solid topic and a shame to see what has happened in South Africa, but that is a topic for a different video. One thing that I will say and this is a bit of a tangent and more directed to viewers here on this channel which I have brought up before. Small countries offer great benefits and often you can stay low key fairly easy which is good and bad. One major issue though if you are a younger single guy and you want to marry still or find some kind of long-term partner, often these really small countries are extremely difficult to find young quality women to even get out even on just a date let alone marriage, and often these females you will never hear back from again after one date. This is often the case I see where I live here in Estonia, great country to set-up a business but absolutely horrible for dating, and really a black sheep in this sense of the eastern european countries and is not at all like some of its neighbors (i.e. Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, ect...). At this point in Estonia or small developing countries like this one, as a foreign guy living here you will need SERIOUS flex if you want to win over a girl here, may require you to pull up in a lambo or Ferrari when you meet for a date otherwise you likely will not hear from her again after the date, similar to some western countries in this respect. This is simply a tradeoff of living in one of these types of countries, but if you do see yourself creating a very successful company in this country or growing a successful company, this downside may not be a big deal long-term. With money comes freedom and you would likely have more options outside the country for dating or simply to set-up alternative home bases like Andrew Henderson does on Nomad Capitalist. Have a nice Sunday to everyone and hustle hard!

  78. Great video and to this day leaving the USA was one of the best decisions I made 1.5 years ago. Not to get too personal but I was dealing with serious migraine and chronic back problems that were undoubtly driven by a certain kind of stress. All I could advise someone is make sure the country you are moving to will actually grant you documents because some countries have not followed through when they promised documents to a person. One other area to be aware of especially if you are a younger guy not someone who is married but is seeking marriage in the country you will live, SOME countries are much better then others for meeting a potential spouse and this is a fact. After living in 5 countries and traveling to 35 countries around the world, what I have found is typically the bigger countries have a bigger spectrum of people and likewise as a foreign person more likely you will have an easier time finding a spouse and also the hypergamy situation is different especially in the larger developing countries (i.e. Argentina or Russia). As you go to smaller and smaller countries, while they offer really optimal tax structures and ways to shield wealth, the dating pool gets really really small and the hypergamy structure changes. Likewise, in these smaller countries people typically prefer dating their own and can make it really difficult for a foreign guy. My reason to point this out is just be aware a year two years may seem easy, but eventually as a single guy you may become lonely in this situation especially not having you family or social network from back home with you. These are all areas to taken into account before making a plunge and committing to one or two countries. Have a nice weekend everyone!

  142. Very interesting input and also parallels my experience while living in Russia. As you say their is no state coming to a woman's aid. If they screw with the wrong guy they are royally screwed unless they have family members that can come through to help in this situation. As you stated it really is a different world living in Ukraine and Russia and is very very difficult for someone to understand the mentality of those places unless you have lived their before. Also note for men initially these are tougher countries especially in your earlier days and really takes a tough mindset to get through the first phases of living in one of those countries as an expat. Even after leaving Russia and coming to Estonia, a country just 100 miles from the Russian border was a like a night and day difference compared to certain aspects of my time living in Russia. As you noted also the women do have standards in these places and a guy will definitely need to bring their A game to be successful in one of these places. In certain respects I would argue that they have even higher standards in some facets if you are foreign and this should be understood if a guy is relocating to one of these countries. As I stated before, it really is a different world in these countries, I will speak in the case of Russia but for me at this point I have permanently left America and will remain in eastern Europe for as long as I can and continue to improve my Russian skills and carry on my day to day affairs. Also, note some of Richard Cooper's advice is very universal and excellent for every man out their, but certain things are not applicable if you are traveling to Russia in which case I would recommend you find a man in Russia specializing in this area, and use videos with subtitles in English. Anyhow great points made here and hopefully Ukraine suits you well! У вас интересная история и наслаждайтесь Украиной!

  178. Solid points you bring out here Andrew, but something you don't cover is the foundation of some of these issues. What particular groups are mostly responsible and support high taxes, I don't want to bother people too much here but by gender one group typically supports much more taxes and central government power then the other group. These are the core issues you likely don't mention in your channel as you don't want to disrupt the client base of your brand but which I will gladly mention here. Look at police forces for example worldwide and the increase overall in women that now comprise these police forces,in both the street work but also at the top making the calls for the police force as a whole or political leaders (politicians). You are very consistent about your ideas and areas that you support on your channel, and is even evidenced by the countries you promote. The tax issue for example though will continue to be an issue as long as women continue to increase their power in the government and their wealth continues to increase worldwide, just biological wiring here and yes there are exceptions to this rule but the exceptions don't set the norms of a society. Tax savings are a huge component of your company and I have been holding back this idea amongst other ideas but feel that this should be mentioned here with the topic of your video focused on this area. Also, I understand the importance of taking action rather then questioning all the norms and standards being imposed on a society, which is where you come into play but as stated before with some of your topics getting to the heart of the issue is just as critical as how to mitigate the issue so people better understand the topic as a whole. One final thing I would also remind you, having as many wealthy people in a society would not be possible, as is today without the structure of society being comprised in the way it is, ie: internet becoming a central base for many sectors of the economy. This is one thing people have to consider, not that I support higher taxes because I don't but if the internet helps to 10X or 100X someones personal net worth and they have to pay x in personal taxes, that situation is still better then making a small fraction of that without the internet being in place and paying small taxes on that small income. Wealthy people have to keep this in mind as innovations are both good and bad in this sense and no matter what governments will figure out how to profit from this and steadily get a bigger slice for themselves. Also, remember there is no way a guy like Bill Gates would be in the wealth bracket he is for so many years without having governments on his side, and in many ways governments have helped him retain power and wealth just as much as himself if not more so when you think about this issue deeply. Have a nice weekend anyhow and look forward to some input here, a lot I mentioned in this long statement.

  221. Great topic Andrew! I have many interesting personal stories on this topic that have happened with distant family members that "kept all their eggs in one basket". This was also a principle that my dad really emphasize to myself and brother and sisters while growing up, and to avoid this mindset at all costs. Back in 2018, I took a huge loss on a stock that I was holding when it tanked overnight, I was holding mid 5 figures in the stock which took a huge hit on my portfolio. Fortunately, I had a lot in savings which kept me still in decent condition but this experience was a huge learning lesson for me to this day and not just in the stock market but in all areas of my life. Like yourself I think people should always be prepared if governments want to come in and confiscates a person's wealth at any moment. Most people here likely know the famous story of Escobar and the massive quantities of cash that he had which would begin to rot at times because he did not hold any of it in traditional banks. When his family left Colombia, they only had about 100 or 200 K with them in cash, which would be a lot for most people but considering he was a billionaire was just a drop in the bucket. They did not have proper offshore accounts or trusts offshore which is why most of the wealth was lost when Escobar was assassinated. The lesson here is that at any moment even a billionaire who is on top of the world can be wiped out and essentially lose most of their money if they don't have the wealth sitting in different countries and banking institutions. As always learn something new from you Andrew everyday!

  393.  @stuarth1996  Yes indeed Tartu and Narva are two of the major secondary cities of Estonia. In Tallinn right now, due to the situation the world is experiencing right now, it is very emptied of foreign people at moment which means many landlords also have vacancies. From what I have heard many landlords are also having a difficult time, and would imagine recently many properties have hit the market or will be hitting the market in the next few months. The return for a 2 bedroom apartment I can inquire to some Estonian contacts of mine here to get an idea for you. About the "landlord friendly" question, Estonia being part of the EU definitely is in the middle area I would think. In Estonia, it is likely in the middle for this issue but also depends on the landlord and your relation to this person. In my case for example my brother had started renting from my landlord 2 years before I had even moved here so this already carried a level of trust with my landlord. If you have a personal connection like this, it helps quite a bit being that Estonia is such a small country, word will get around quickly that a tenant has not been paying and problems could arise if this tenant wants to find a new place to live. There are many times here where landlords will choose not to rent their apartment to someone if they are from the "third-world" and they don't seem like a dependable tenant, and this is possible in most cases, being Estonia doesn't have strict laws in this area as other countries such as USA.

  491. I use to live in russia and great place to live, but is a huge culture and mindset shift. Last year I was in st petersburg but the russia Girls definitely have higher standards if you are a foreign guy. The russian language is more importantto know if you are living in russia or ukraine then in other former soviet republics. For example right now I live in estonia which is right next to russia but quite a different world in some ways, and english will work in most environments here. Keep in mind russia is a culture where People Will respect you as a foreign person but the culture does not have all the antics as anglo culture and People Will not care about you in Russia unless you offer them value. Furthermore, guys will often say how russian women are easier if you are foreign which is often not the case, they definitely have standards in place for men and Russia is no Thailand or Phillipines, Russians are European girls and you will feel pushed in some ways that you won't relate to until you are a foreign guy who has lived in Russia. My brother lives in Russia and has phenomenal results with the russian ladies. He is age 27 and can basically go out with Just about any girl He desires. Note that does Come with a cost and in Russia there is often a tough mindset needed, due to the isolated way you Will feel as a foreign guy, much more isolate feel then in most other European countries which is where the Russian language will come into play. Understand Russia is very much tied to the central Asian republics which basically brings a whole different feel to the culture then in most other European countries. There is much to say here but the best advice I would give a guy is travel to Russia at least once in your life. My first time was in 2017, which I thought would be a "one and done" trip. But since then have been back to Russia 4 times while also living in Russia last year and now Estonia. A fun note is that the portuguese language has sounds which share similar aspects to the Russian language. Good luck to your Journey man! Удачи в вашем путешествии по Восточной Европе и России!
