  8. As someone with a visual disability I struggled to get a job after college. I took anything I could get and worked any hours. I do not understand people who complain about working out of their field or at lower wages or more than one job. Dignity is the right word. The last group of Americans denied their basic civil rights are the disabled. We don't want hand outs. Just a chance.

  29. The Founders understood and studied history and governments. A man who owns nothing has no power. Property is power. The newly freed slaves understood this in the old south. The first thing they did after legalizing their slave marriages, learning to read, and registering to vote was saving money to buy land or start a business. My third great grandfather started a school for former slaves who felt called by God to be clergy. He and a fellow pastor started that school for freemen to learn reading and the Bible. Other clergy joined in and a collection was made to aid in education of clergy and build churches for the newly ordained pastors. These churches were more than centers of religion but also education, political activism and uplift of the entire community. And of course the central focus of the modern civil rights movement.
