  3. Ask the child if they have been abused. Sometimes abuse leads to gender confusion then there is a need to belong to a peer group. And this age group needs reassurance that confusion is not unusual and being in a state of emotional and physical transition from a child to a young adult is something all kids go through. But also reassure them that gender is genetic and biological and how they feel now may change so any medical intervention needs to wait on how they feel at eighteen. Also depression is a factor and getting counseling from a reputable doctor not some one peddling transitioning might help too.

I recall one book years later written by someone who'd done this decades ago as an adult after undergoing going a long exam to make sure this was their choice. It never showed up in any of my textbooks. It was obviously quite rare before the media and activists and Democrats made it policy and a fad. The lives being ruined is senseless and in many cases $$$ driven.

  10.  @alyciamarie4163  I know a young girl who was from a broken home who had a father and mother deep into drugs, booze and domestic violence. She hated he father, was angry at mom and began identifying as gay then trans as an escape from the chaos but actually the issue was not surprisingly depression. Luckily she was removed from her home and now doing much better. Nothing should be assumed or acted by a child's statements. Check the background. It's common sense.

  18. I'm 73 my dear and they were peddling sexuality on a spectrum back then with hetero and gay on the extremes and preaching that most humans were binary in the middle. This was in 1971. Social Science loves fads just like education. And when the two combine on some half baked theories and run with it god help the children in their " care".
