  19. @brendamartin7280  I live in Florida. You have my complete sympathies. My insurance is insanely high due to all the hurricanes we've been hit with these past few years. Mine's $3,000 per year up from $1,000. That is on the low end but when you consider southern states have lower incomes it's huge for seniors who's pensions if they have any at all but Social Security are smaller too. And the mobile homes which Florida has an abundance of are just sitting ducks for storms. My house had it's chimney blown off and part of the roof in a silly little tropical storm! I'll never think of them as nothing again!

  48. @Cherrysmith2809  I'd say it's the frequency. We are being hit multiple times in one year. I've been in dozens of hurricanes from Charleston to N.Florida and even tropical storms can cause very bad damage if they come in at vulnerable angles. I once lived where every huge oak tree came down on several streets in our neighborhood with a tropical storm not even a hurricane because the ground was wet from a previous wet season of just rains. We lost power for five days and there were giant oak trees all over. Luckily they fell on power lines not houses.
