  1. During the 70's the feminists wanted to make women appear as equal as men as possible and downplayed the real limitations and uncomfortable experiences of women with periods and childbirth. I actually had a prof suggest that women who did feel unwell were old fashioned and not exercising their new found freedoms,etc.Lol!
