The Founders came out of a monarchy/ parliamentry system and several had served in their colonial governments either as representitives or as some official thereof. Do not fix what isn't broken or what you do not understand. We desperately need to teach unbiased history and civics in our schools again as mandatory for high scholl graduation as it was when I was a kid. Ignorance is deadly to a free society.
