  1. Bless her kind heart. This is a terrible winter storm. I fear more tragedies as the rescues continue. Even in Florida the cold temps caused a death. A poor old soul, a confused elderly lady, escaped her family's home and wandered out in the night. Despite a massive search she succcumbed to the cold.

I saw a movie once where some explorers got into a bad place and the two members that were religious were calm whereas the non believer was freaking out.   31. No, the Supreme Court was to be a lifetime appointment to remove them from political partisanship like these nominations often cause. Also, if you look at the record of judicial rulings over time an appointment does not predict how a justice will rule. Many so called conservative or liberal justices actually anger people who try to guess how they'll rule. Why? Because once appointed a justice is free to rule based on the law, the Constitution, and legal precedent as they should. We really need to reinstate teaching civics as mandatory in high school and college because a lot of this divisive rhetoric lately is the result of profound ignorance among our citizens about the structure and purpose of governmental bodies, history, and the concept of shared powers under a federal republic system.

We broke the agreement we gave Gorbachev when the USSR fell apart to not intrude in their area or try to seduce former Soviet Republics into NATO. Russia seized the Crimea port for that reasons.   49. True. It's the norm. Eg, France. What is not the norm is abortion when the fetus is viable and that's at five months now with high tech NICUS. Florida's used to be 24 weeks! That's six months. Dang! I never knew that. I was born 27 weeks in 1950 and lived when all they had was an oxygen tank and a priest! 2 lbs 13 ozs and the viability back then was 2 lbs 5 ozs. Glad I didn't know that but it explains why I quit breathing suddenly and scared everybody til age two.
