  23. I studied Social/ Pyschology and Social Work in grad school. Having read case studies on the medical and mental health outcomes of these surgeries I'd never advise a minor to even take hormones much less surgery. Even adults often have unfortunate medical issues and buyers regret that are irreversible. It's a pity and wrong that activists have turned this into a money driven/ political issue and in some states even outlawed counseling for what was always considered a mental illness. Delusions that lead to a person indulging in self harm would seem to be a no brainer as a sign that serious issues are at play in an individual's life. Add peer pressure,the possibilty of molestation, media, activistism by adults and you have undue influences combined with normal childhood confusion at puberty. This is not the time to engage in radical irreversible acts.
