  1. I've always hated the idea of picking a permanent host. That completely goes against the global celebration of cultures that the Olympics is built on. There are far more capable host cities than most people realize. London, Sydney, Salt Lake, LA, Atlanta, Barcelona, Vancouver, Nagano, Calgary, Albertville, and Lillehammer were all tremendously successful.
