  1. The cities west of the Hudson don't have as much commuter rail which contributes to why they are less prosperous. Towns like Beacon are seen as getaways for city dwellers who don't own cars.

  3.  @duanerackham9567  agreed. Towns like Beacon & Cold Spring are expensive to live in because they have so much demand from people trying to escape NYC. Towns like Newburgh have so much potential to be another up & coming NYC commuter town.
