The reason why I like this car is because only car people know what it is. If I pulled up in a Ferrari or Lambo everyone in society will want to talk to me & I'd much rather spend 6 figures on a car only enthusiasts know about than one that'll attract everyone else in society.

Do snow tires for the Viper exist? If so do you plan on getting them?
134
Do most people prefer the 997 over the 991?
14
996 criticisms debunked 1. The interior isn't meant to be extravagant, it's a sports car 2. You don't see the headlights while having fun driving it 3. Even the most reliable cars have infamous problems

I see a lot of comments saying that this is a waste of resources & you should of bought the car for someone who'll need it and I understand where those comments are coming from but I don't agree with them. I'm one that's for conserving resources & if this was a low mileage PT Cruiser (which is a car that I hate) in good condition I would agree but this car was dying. Giving this car to someone would be a disaster and it would most likely end up in the scrapyard anyways. So honestly crushing this thing with a Hummer is the best thing to do with it since it's something fun you can do with a dying car that car people hate in the first place. Also do any of you watch movies or wrestling when brand new luxury cars get destroyed? Because I don't see you guys bitching about that but when a falling apart PT Cruiser gets destroyed call Doug every name in the book.

How can a car possibly be worth in the negatives?
8
It's not really about it not being flashy but rather a car that only car people know. A Porsche GT3 is flashy but society will only think of it as any old Porsche.

and use the right blinker turning left

***** real car enthusiasts that want the practicality of a station wagon
4
Reviews this car 3 years ago & says he wouldn't buy it. Buys it 3 years later
4
The blue rims make it look that much worse

I wonder if Doug was a service agent or intern for Enterprise.
3
broazrael1234 even if you need a reliable car living paycheck to paycheck I'd much rather have a CPO Versa, Fit, or Yaris
3
February hopefully, one of my favorite cars of all time
2
Speedbird996 a Porsche 911 I'd want stick
2
***** it's still a street car but for a station wagon the track potential is still there. You can do that, go on a road trip, grocery hop, carry around people, even take it to home depot & still have awesome performance.
2
doomtomb3 I agree, as cool as I think this is I'd rather have other enthusiast cars
2
Mike S Honda radios are shit
2
TheStraightPipes my friend's Crown Vic has those

I know Demuro is Italian

One of my dream cars

I was in my friend's XT5 & the only noise you heard was the engine

The only advantage it seems that you get from renting from an agency is that you can drop the car off a different location than where you picked it up. Turo doesn't only have to be expensive cars you can rent something like an older 3 series for cheap. Sure it's not an F Type but for the budget I'd rather have a 3 series or a car of my choice for the price rather than something like a Chevy Malibu. By the way am I the only one who doesn't think the Impala doesn't sound bad. It doesn't sound near as good as the F Type but it sounds better than most 4 cylinders.
1
George Lurye I've thought of that to. For Turo is there any assistance if you call the guy if there's a problem? My comment has the word seems in it saying that it's only my observations from this video & not the complete truth.
1
The amount of money he saved from a warranty is why one shouldn't have a car as is. Especially a higher maintenance European car.
1
I think this gets more flack than a GT3 because of what the brands are supposed to be. BMWs are driver's focused luxury cars when Porsches are all out sports cars
1
ericpsu13 how would that be possible?
1
lsmeteor every shitty car I've came across was at least worth about $500. How can a car be that was made in the same millennia be worth in the negatives when I see 90s pieces of shit worth in the hundreds?
1
lsmeteor but how would a buyer not want a car for not even $100
1
lsmeteor I wouldn't even consider a car like that to buy for someone but how can a car be worth in the negatives when cars are usually worth something
1
Whenever he does these videos another problem occurs at the end of the video
1
When you realize this car is cheaper than the original MSRP of a Nissan Cross Cabriolet by over $12K.
1
He should revise this review with the review style he currently does
1
What's the E30 doing at the end of the video?
1
JApple157 cool, want to tell me more about it?
1
Since this car is as is nor refined for the daily driving you might as well take it to a track
1
As a VW guy I like the Allroad. Handsome, practical, good build quality, useable, comfortable, probably drives well but why would anyone want a car in that condition. I'm sure there are better examples of those if you really want to go out of your way for one. If he crushed a creampuff Allroad I wouldn't be happy but with engine & transmission failure on a 14 year old regular Audi is it worth it?
1
Speedbird996 manual is probably more fun on fun weekend drives. Not really into automatic sports cars.
1
Would this be considered a grand touring car?
1
Hearing stories like these really piss me off on how the police prioritize offences. Not that the ticket was justified but I understand him getting pulled over in Cherry Hill because what crime happens there but Philly? That's unacceptable! Violent crimes happen in Philly everyday but a Port Authority Cop pulls over someone because of a plate frame? Give me a break!
1
The reasons he uses for Wednesday & Friday are why I wouldn't want an exotic car even for a fun weekend car. The fact that you can't use your leisure car to go out to dinner nor to drive to suburbs is a total waste of having a weekend car. That's why my dream car is an M3 because although I wouldn't daily drive it is daily drive able & I can still drive it to leisurely places that Doug states he couldn't drive his Ferrari to in this video & in his article.
1
longboardcat98 thanks. I'm not one to waste resources but I wouldn't live with myself if I gave this car to someone because they would end up putting too much money into a dying car so crushing it would be the best solution. If this was even a low mileage PT Cruiser in good condition I'd be a little mad but not this falling apart piece of shit
1
michael westin I never said I like Hummers. All I'm saying is that why so much outrage for crushing a falling apart car nobody would buy.
1
Cyclonitron all I'm saying is if I pulled up in this only car guys would know how cool it is opposed to if I pulled up in a Ferrari it would attract everyone & their mother.
1
TEH KOTAK car guys will know what it is & will respect it because it's a badass car. You just won't get everyone in society like you would in a Ferrari, which to me is good
1
Would anyone drive this daily?
1
I hope it's an M but I see him leaning towards an M or a Viper
1
What do you think of the 996 GT3?
1
Not a Hummer fan but sucks to hear what happened to it. How many miles were on it?
1
Imagine having this car without a mirror
