  1. Although we should pay people like this no mind, the issue of the inefficiency of air travel (as an avid travel & aviation enthusiast) needs to be addressed. I fly from Newark to Chicago often & it seems that a high speed train there would be more efficient & environmentally friendly than the emissions & reduce the additional time it takes to fly.

  2.  @JSkyGemini  American society will always view the automobile as the primary form of transportation & there is tons of bureaucratic nonsense with rail. However, for distances under 1000 miles, travelers will save more time, money, & trouble if high speed rail is invested into. Plus it will pay for itself because trains are more efficient & emit less.
