Protesting is so ridiculous because when the government does reopen, they're all getting back pay anyway. when the flooding time comes to mind ya remember Trump made several attempts to reopen the government and fund the gov. and give workers back normal pay and the Dems shot it all down!!!! Aint Trump's fault!

  3.  @onlyonezay419  If you make 60k or 70k a year, and you miss 1 paycheck, that shouldn't throw you into a food stamp eligible income bracket. If you miss 2 paychecks, that shouldn't do it either. This gov. workers can get a paying job at McDonalds or any where else, yes, it'd be for lesser pay, but if you can't buy groceries because of 1 or 2 missed paycheck, then it's either that or go to a food bank. And there are some food banks that even millionaire s can go to, because they are open to everyone and don't operate on an income restriction. I know because I been there before. Nothing wrong with going to a food bank.

  5.  American Paisa  I know exactly what you are saying I just wrote something to REAL SPILL about it. I used to be on government programs and I know what it is like. I know people that are still on government programs. You are absolutely right that the media is blowing everything out of proportion because it is a big agenda to turn everyone against Trump, and I feel bad for the employees missing their paychecks and having to go to work without pay, however the 800,000 gov. workers that are without pay act like 2 missed paychecks is enough to make them homeless. Trump put bills into place that anyone that cannot pay their rent or mortgage because of the government shutdown cannot be evicted and it passed, so it's law, also, where I am in my town there are tons of freebies, free lunches, free admission to the zoo for the government employee and up to 3 of their family members, etc. There are different freebies every day for them during the shut down. So they can be helped. All these things available for them like all the freebies, haven't been available during the past government shutdowns and Trump also made it a law that the military will always still get paid during government shutdowns. People act like 800,000 government employees are the mass of American work force. They're not. Thanks to the people that are working and getting paid during the government shutdown, gov. employees have these things in place for them. No one talks about government employees getting back pay once it shutdown has ended either. Everyone should just take this time to spend more time with there family like everybody always wants, instead of spending their days in a hallway at the Capitol building and other gov. decision making buildings.

  6.  @retnavybrat  That must depend on the state you live in because the governor of my state just made state law that government employees that are furloughed/working without pay can actually receive unemployment. It was a BIG deal about it.
