  1. Long ago, a 9 year-old girl went missing in our hometown. Her body was found not far from our house. It changed our lives. To me and my 4 younger sisters, nothing felt safe after that. Decades passed before DNA solved the case. It turned out that her killer was actually someone who'd never been on police radar. Two years after the killing, he had committed suicide because, it was believed, that he felt law enforcement was getting close to arresting him. By then, her parents had already passed away, but her brother was still alive to get the news. Now, I hope Abby and Libby's families won't have to wait that long for justice. Rest in peace, Debbie Randall. Extra angels of comfort to those who loved you. ✨️💙

  12. I'm glad the judge is allowing the evidence. Not doing so would be the equivalent of complaining about using fingerprints many decades ago - and defense attorneys did just that. This is one of those cases that, if law enforcement wasn't absolutely sure they had the right guy, every LEO in the different agencies would still be hunting the 'real killer' 24/7.   13. Fred Tokars died in federal prison a few years ago. He'd been in a wheelchair for over a decade, suffering from a neurological disease. His son Mike died at the age of 31 from a pulmonary embolism. Rest in peace, Mike.

  15. Fwiw, as an actual DV survivor, I have followed this case closely. I believe that the jury got it right. And I want to say this for anyone in that situation - when DV is truly happening. Thanks in advance for your forbearance in reading this... I owe my life to a cop. I was in the ER getting stitches on top of my head from where my husband had hit me with a ceramic lamp. (I also had bruises of all colors from head to toe. It's as if I saw them for the first time thru the doctor's, nurses' and that cop's eyes.) That officer told me what he'd seen in 15+ years of law enforcement and said that if I didn't leave, then my family would end up identifying my body. As crazy as it seems, somehow, through the pain, alcoholism and three years of denial about the level of violence I faced almost daily, I STILL thought I could change things and stayed. Two months later, my husband shot at me with a .22 rifle: I heard the bullet whiz past my left ear. I left and phoned the number that LEO had given me. But my husband's next wife was not as fortunate. She was found beaten into a vegetative state. She regained consciousness two years later and then died the next year without being able to recognize her own sons. And he was never convicted for her death. His young sons' lives were shattered. Hoping that the jury sends a message to those who think they can manufacture DV as an excuse to *ill people. Fgs, if this is happening to you - leave! And this goes for women and men. There are ways to protect yourself against violence. Lastly, I did find and thank that cop after I got sober and was working in a career I had only dreamed of. No one has to go thru it alone.   22. When I was 12 - a half century ago - I called DFCS about what was happening to my best friend's little brother. They listened to me, but the mom was so furious that they visited her, things only got worse. My guilt was tremendous. His life ended up being tragic in so many ways. He was in jail and prison for decades. None of his crimes were violent, which was a miracle given the nature of his abuse. (He was an addict.) He died a few months ago - and his big sister and brother never saw anything wrong with how their mom treated him. (The dad looked the other way.) Now? It's not hard to imagine other abusive parents across the nation battening down the hatches to prevent their hurt kids from escaping. The things I saw as a girl have all been rushing back. My own Mom was very ill then, but we never knew anything but love. It's still so hard to believe anyone can be cruel period, much less to innocent children and animals, too. Rest in peace, Phillip.

Yo: the absolute last thing anyone on a set would expect would be a live round. Period. It's unheard of. It's also weird that more actors aren't making this point. Imo, Alec has been overcharged - at least in a criminal capacity. As a producer, however, I'm pretty sure he'd be culpable in the civil trial.
