  2. Kirsten, Jared's widow, talks about loving his twins, yet supports the death penalty for their mother. To be clear, I hope Shanna is convicted at trial and serves life, but the added trauma for these kids who have already lost so much would be horrific. I don't think a jury - even one in FL - would vote to execute her. (The inequality of how capital punishment is carried out in the US is just one of the reasons I don't support it.) Here's to justice finding Shanna soon.

  6. I'm a female survivor of DV and totally agree. It's disingenuous to suggest it never happens to men. It's about violence and I'm all for equal prosecutions.

  7. Good to know the testimony of the actual killer will go a long way towards convicting the actual plotters. I'm curious to see if Shanna's ersatz husband will turn on her since it's a death penalty case.

  8. Mormons. Religion in general points to a God who loves conditionally. It's my main problem with it. Playing higher ground with one particular faith is disingenuous, tho - at best. Prejudice is ugly.

  10. ​ @jacobthompson6265  But his first wife had him killed. It seems unlikely she'll be free again. (But of course we don't have access to the state's case.) I disagree with the death penalty, tho - and not just for the privileged. The trauma Jared's twins have endured has been great enough. Knowing their mom had their dad killed is horrific enough. Shanna's lack of remorse is not a factor in crime details, but it sure adds to the overall picture of a lack of humanity.

  13. Cammy, I'm not a fan of religion in general, but it's bizarre to see such prejudice re: one over another. There are a lot of great folks who happen to be Mormon: the geographic influence of religious affiliation is a factor. You might as well say people from Utah are predisposed to violent crime.
