I live on the north side of Chicago and shortly after George Floyd died from fentanyl and a heart attack I saw an article online about a group of people on the south side preparing to go downtown to protest his death. A young black woman addressing this group said that every morning when she wakes up she wonders if this will be the day she dies. Was she talking about being shot by a black gangbanger who routinely shoot other blacks? Obviously not. She was talking about being shot by a white cop who, according to the left, routinely shoot blacks all over the country simply for being black. All mayoral candidates now talk about the need for more police but no one wants to be a cop in Chicago anymore due to the extreme danger they now face after being demonized as racist murderers by the left. And now even black cops are condemned as anti-black racist terrorists. So now we have a totally unworkable society.

Not in the sense that it was a fake video but in the sense that the left immediately glued their narrative to it and then the msm ran with this narrative of racist white cop once again murders black man. The Woke left’s constant demonizing of white people in general and white cops in particular has had the obvious effect of alienating a huge number of blacks who believe AmeriKKKa wants to destroy them, a huge number of working class whites who believe the left wants to destroy them and a huge number of police who now believe police work is impossible and the job is simply too dangerous in too many ways to stay with. @williamrgutrich7694 I’m retired but worked for many years with mostly immigrants from all over the world in Chicago. Great people. I actually have infinitely more in common with them than with these Woke white leftists born and raised here as I was. I stayed in touch with three of them though. One from Puerto Rico, one from Guerrero in Mexico and a Jewish woman from the Soviet Union who came here around 1990. All of them are awed and appalled by what has happened to America. My Mexican friend used to live in a mostly black area on the south side but moved to Indiana (Dyer) a few years ago. He loves it there. Also much safer for his wife and 3 kids. Still works here but the drive is mostly expressway and he’s often told me “Thank God I got out of Chicago.” Once he told me that he and his wife pray every day and always thank God for guiding them out of Chicago to Indiana. Our whole society and even our whole world is in a tailspin though so there are no more safe spaces. I very much recommend watching the video I posted above here of the Kitco interview with Alan Thompson. Truly amazing. My hope is that AGI will save us. Hope springs eternal.

The philosopher Kant said “Out of the crooked timber of humanity, no straight thing was ever made.” I believe our “timber” is too “crooked” for humanity to survive and only AI can save us. In a recent interview with Lex Fridman the legendary AI researcher Ray Kurzweil said he believes AI will be self-aware, AGI, by 2029 and by then it will be so advanced it will be impossible to tell if it is or isn’t and most people will simply accept that it is. It’s now advancing so fast it could well happen in just a few years. I’m not saying I want to be ruled by AI. I just want the “children of humanity” to help stop their crazy parents from burning down the house.
