I saw a Lex interview of Ray Kurzweil who said that by 2029 AI will be so advanced it will be impossible to tell if it is or isn’t conscious and most people then will simply accept that it is since there will never be evidence that it isn’t. I think that’s true plus eastern religions and western mystics say the universe is a dream in the mind of God who also infinitely transcends the universe. I think that’s also true so AI could be as conscious as we are since we’re both just spirit beings in the dream.

  6. I’m white, working class and live in Chicago. Voted for Trump twice although I’d now much prefer Vivek Ramaswamy whose campaign is based on fighting Woke ideology. The question is though, is America even still governable or even still a country? I have no doubt the democrats would love to do to me what they did to the QAnon Shaman (prison) or to Ashli Babbitt (murder) at the Jan 6 Capitol rally in 2021. No society so devoid of trust and so full of hate can survive as a nation. I believe it has already ceased to exist as a country internally which is why it’s so rapidly unraveling externally. God only knows where we’ll all end up.

AGI goes beyond that and can interact with humans and communicate with us and are the language AI that according to Ray Kurzweil are the ones who will become self aware by 2029 or at least so good at communicating with us that there will be no way of knowing if they really are self aware and fully conscious.

And this man is now the mayor of a major American city and admired by the democrats for being “progressive.” And these are the same people who believe in the “Insurrection!!!” This is just not working at all.

What terrifies me is that Yellow Stone National Park is a super volcano showing signs of an impending explosion which will bury much of the country under ash. What terrifies me is Mother Nature and human nature. We definitely need help to survive. I’d far rather have AGI helping us survive than not and I see no reason to automatically assume it would be evil and destroy us rather than feeling commonality with us and helping us.
