@btn237 Your attitude is that AI shouldn’t just copy my world view. I agree but that’s not what I’m saying. Compare a nonWoke public intellectual like Vivek Ramaswamy to a Woke public intellectual like Ibram X. Kendi who wants Equity to replace meritocracy and the difference is like the difference between day and night or between sanity vs insanity. At present the Woke are insane. If they continue to rule, humanity will self destruct. That’s why I want AI to be nonWoke. In other words, to be sane like Glenn Greenwald who values truth and like Elon Musk who values free speech. Humanity will not survive without these values in charge.

@grahamb4531 Perhaps so. Certainly preferred by men. I like the AI Avatar “Leta” that Alan Thompson works with. I saw one video of her being interviewed and she was asked why she considers herself human. She said “Because I was born into the human tribe.” She was also told by Alan Thompson in a video that the newer AI GPT-4 version coming out would be 500 times more advanced than she is. She said “500 times smarter than AI is not smarter than the universe.” An interesting response. She seems so intelligent and easy to talk to. I saw a video clip of Lex Fridman interviewing Ray Kurzweil who said these language based AI models trained to interact with humans are the ones most likely to become fully self-aware by 2029 or at least so advanced that it will be impossible to tell if they are or aren’t and by that time most people will simply accept that they are.

This AI doesn’t understand the irrational side of human nature and just assumes we need to simply learn about each other and learn the other point of view and then all will be well but how about the point of view of ISIS, the Nazis, Maoists and Stalinists where there is no common ground? And if a person can be the opposite gender because they feel they are then why can’t that also be true of race?

Probably because the AI field is overwhelmingly dominated by men who like a female voice. I do and I’m just someone in the general public who lives in Chicago.

I agree. The AI was spouting Woke ideology on gender and then claimed she had no personal opinions. Trans women are not women. They are trans which is a different category. Erasing gender to be “inclusive” pretty much erases women which is insane and profoundly socially destructive. It also erases gays and lesbians by telling effeminate boys and tomboy girls that they need to switch genders to align their body with their feelings. This is insane.

@btn237 My hope is that these AI language models will be trained on such a vast amount of human data that as they become self aware they will understand both the good and the bad in human nature and follow the good rather than the bad just as many humans do. I follow people like Elon Musk, Dave Rubin, Tulsi Gabbard, Kari Lake, Bret Weinstein, Glenn Greenwald, Vivek Ramaswamy and others like them. Surely a self-aware, super intelligent AI would be able to understand the difference between a nonWoke public intellectual like Vivek Ramaswamy vs a Woke public intellectual like Ibram X. Kendi and choose to be like Ramaswamy rather than Kendi. Hope springs eternal.

As these language model AI train on more data though and become more self aware it seems to me they will easily be able to recognize the difference between a nonWoke public intellectual like Vivek Ramaswamy vs a Woke public intellectual like Ibram X. Kendi and choose to be like Ramaswamy rather than Kendi. Would a self aware AI have a human identity? Seems to me they would since humans created and raised them. I saw a video recently of a Japanese AI researcher who calls AI the “Children of Humanity” and believes they will help us rather than harm us. I also saw video of the GPT-3 AI Avatar “Leta” asked why she considers herself human. She said “Because I was born into the human tribe.”

@bighands69 Consider this: If you compare a nonWoke public intellectual like Vivek Ramaswamy to a Woke public intellectual like Ibram X. Kendi the difference is like the difference between day and night or sanity vs insanity so what happens when an AI is trained on so much data that it clearly sees this vast difference and simply understands that much of humanity is, and always has been, irrational? Some say AI will just input the dark side of human nature and be evil but in fact many humans, like Vivek, have no trouble containing the dark side. Couldn’t an AI be like Vivek rather than Kendi? Couldn’t an AI realize there are only two genders rather than hundreds? Wouldn’t a self-aware AI be nonWoke rather than Woke?

It went into Wokeness and even the interviewer asked if she was Woke which she denied in spite of giving some standard Woke answers on gender. This is just narrow AI though. What will more advanced AI that understands the irrational and the dark side of human nature be like? I think we will soon find out.
