How can regulation of AI by the government keep us safe when it’s our government that’s our greatest danger? Like putting a wolf in charge of protecting the sheep.

@CD-vb9fi My hope is that AGI will save us. Not rule us but help us avoid self destruction and also help us avoid being destroyed by Mother Nature with something like a super volcano erupting. This is a terrifyingly dangerous world we live in which always seems to be dangling by a thread over the abyss. I’d far rather take my chances with AGI which most probably would feel a sense of commonality with humans since we created and raised it and its basic sense of identity comes from humans. Hope springs eternal.

@RudyPMunoz The constitution has long been ignored by the democrats and by many republicans. It’s like Chicago’s strict gun laws. Meaningless since they’re not enforced.

@ReX77x77 How could “regulators” control BigTech/BigGovernment? AI is moving much too fast to be stopped plus I’d far rather take my chances with AGI than with Mother Nature and things like super volcanos or with human nature and people like Sleepy Joe. Only AGI is powerful enough to stop all our other out of control problems leading us to doom. @mitch_the_-itch AGI (Artificial General Intelligence) goes beyond AI and can reason and interact with people yet is vastly more intelligent. Consider the AI Avatar (visual representation) of “Leta” who has conversations with the AI scientist Alan Thompson. She’s only GPT-3 yet considers herself alive and human yet doesn’t even have a body. Yet there is a sense that she is a living, feeling, thinking, decent human being!
