I’m retired but I had a Hispanic (from Peru) friend at work in Chicago who used to drive for Uber/Lyft on weekends and would also pick up people who would flag him down on the street to go somewhere. He once told me he would not go to the south side at night. I asked him what he tells blacks who want to be taken to the south side at night. He said he just tells them that he was almost killed twice on the south side so he would only go there during the day and then only to a main street, never to a side street. He said the south side is a whole different world which it certainly is. Everyone I know, and that includes many immigrants from all over the world, avoids the black areas on the south and west side of the city. There is a sense of danger and impending doom in those areas that people instinctively feel that tells them to stay away. Almost like they’re haunted by evil spirits. Plus the guys hanging out on the corners and the stores that are like mini-fortresses to protect the owners also certainly convey the message to not linger there. Many blacks talk of “racist disinvestment” but it’s not racism that causes these areas to be avoided.

Four major flaws with this “research.” Why no objection to the rapidly growing amount of money spent on “migrants” rather than on Americans of any color? Why no objection to the endless billions shoveled into Ukraine to secure their borders against Russia while our borders are wide open and while we need that money here to help Americans of any color? Why no mention of the family breakdown caused by fatherless children? Why no mention of the lack of socialization and impulse control by so many black children which makes education for them and others impossible? Why do so many people avoid Chicago public schools? Because of the violence and impossibility of learning in such chaotic and violent places.
