Even how the Bishop closes the clip is interesting. The person who created the Universe is a mathematician. Huh. Why? A more interesting question to me would be why do we think that mathematics is the best way to understand the universe? Or logic? There seem to be baked in assumptions and proclivities into that line of reasoning. Mechanistic causation maybe. Idk. Math and logic can indeed gesture toward beauty and other ineffable qualities. Why wouldn’t art or beauty or laughter or quality be more faithful guides? Or equally good? We have a huge proclivity to quantitative analysis vs qualitative apprehension or vision. “You can’t think yourself out of a prison made of thoughts.”
