  1. What about the long-term environmental cost of cheap goods? Pulling people out of poverty for one to three generations does no good for posterity if we destroy the planet. The way that we eat and dress ourselves and consume at large is not even close to being sustainable. Do what’s meaningful, not what’s expedient. We are outsourcing our problems overseas where we can’t see them through buying unethical products. Analyzing this with the one-variable of “trade with a communist government” is myopic.
