  1. I have a property paid off. I am now 71. Is the property really an asset though?? I find it is a liability. It needs continual maintenance (built in the 1930's), monthly taxes increasing each year. Utility bills (water, electric, gas) increasing each year. If I sell it a similar property would cost the same. If I downsize I would lose the circle of friends I have made in my area over the last few years. I think my younger son has the right idea. He lives in an RV on his private land in the middle of nowhere. No utility bills and no worries.

  2. Investing in stock when it's on the cusp of falling is stupid. The US market was driven higher when cheap printed money was loaned to already wealthy individuals and corporations at very low interest rates. The wealthy borrowed money at 1 to 2% and invested in stocks, gold, art, luxury brands and bought and sold businesses. With BRICS countries selling off US debt(treasuries) I predict a major market correction downwards later in 2024.

  3. People say Mr Dent is mostly wrong in his predictions. Well, in the next 12 to 24 months we will find out if he is or not. Personally I am leaning towards Mr Dent being right. The reason, demographics.

  5. Peace, prosperity and progress for the past 75 years?? What a load of nonsense. 285 distinct armed conflicts since 1945. America has been in 19 wars since World War 2 with over 12 million DEAD. Prosperity for who exactly?? The richest 10% ? The other 90% struggle to put food food on the table and many in the world have no food at all. Progress?? America's streets being lined with tents and rusty automobiles where the homeless and mentally ill live and die. A world where the younger generation struggle to pay rent or cannot afford to raise a family in their own home. If you think owning a smart phone and spending hours on Facebook, Whatsapp and other social media crap is progressive then your definition of progress differs from mine.

  6. I do not know why bitcoin is worth anything. Similar to fiat currency nothing of value backs it. I am told hoard gold or silver. Who will buy my holding of precious metal when fiat currency collapses. I cannot eat or drink it and for certain I don't wish to lose my life defending it from marauding hoards..
