  3. For years I have been telling my friends their government pension contributions are not invested but used to pay existing pensioners. It reminds me of an illegal Multi Level Pyramid scheme. Those who join at the start make all the money and those joining last lose all their money. I personally chose to invest in equites for their dividends using ISA's, then continually reinvest (compounding). Those working now should not be reliant on the state for their future finances. Personally, I do not believe the state pension is sustainable. Every ponzi scheme I know of has collapsed in the end.

  4. This is what happens when you live in a consumer debt driven economy. Sooner or later, the consumer is no longer able to sustain their personal debt level, creating an economic collapse.
