  1. I lived in Hounslow, West London for 26 years under the Heathrow Airport flightpath. I moved up north 17 years ago. Recently I went back for a few days to see some old buddies. I feel sorry for the younger generation paying ridiculous prices just to keep a job. The bankers, solicitors, estate agents and surveyors are making a mint. Since I left it seems London has become very impersonal, grubby and it's difficult to even believe it's an English city.
