My wife and I have a condo in Malaysia and two properties in the UK. None are rented as the condo is our Malaysian digs. Out of the two properties in the UK one is our holiday home and one our main home. All have no mortgage. The trouble is and because we are now entering our 70's we are CASH POOR. We don't want to cash in as we want to leave our grandkids an inheritance as I have no clue how they will ever buy a home without some financial help. We also do not want any debt at our ages so will not re-finance. Property prices are being pumped up to crazy levels by banks, estate agents, surveyors and the rest of the shark pool. In my opinion, the rug is soon going to be pulled and those buying within the past year or so with their 25% cash deposits are going to burn big time.
