  12. Don't forget your maintenance fees which increase over time. £100,000 at 5% interest = £5000 per year. I would rather rent a place and use that £5000 towards the rent. It allows freedom to move to different places unless you are happy to wait months to "hopefully" sell a place.

  21. That is why they are here to earn money to support their families overseas. Their salary is taxed so they are free to support their loved ones if they choose to do so. Here in the UK, we Brits tend to shove our elderly into residential homes as it is too bothersome to care for them or simply rely on social care to take the burden. At least other cultures tend to take care of family members unlike us lot.
