  4. I am 71 too. Russia is to cold for my liking. I am selling up and will live in Malaysia 90 days, Thailand 60 days, Cambodia 60 days, Vietnam 60 days and Philippines for 90 days. I will repeat the process every year until I die. I can live on around £1000 per month in either of these countries. Rents, food and utilities are cheap. If one is prepared to give up the Western mindset of "I must have it now" and instead live, shop and eat like a local it is NOT expensive. Local airfares to either country are cheap by using Air Asia. Laid back lifestyle, beautiful beaches, great local food, excellent climate and wonderful people. What more does one want??

  5. I flew from Manchester, UK to Faro, Portugal for £42. 3 days before I travelled by train from London to Chester for £86 which is less than 180 miles. Figure that one out.

  12. Nothing wrong with Russia. It is no longer a communist country but is Christian Orthodox. Putin is a devout Christian. Western media portray Russia as an evil empire but that is simply not true. Let us also not forget, if it was not for Russia's sacrifices during WW2 we in the west would now all be speaking the German language.
