This is a difference between trust and assurance. Which is more important in a husband and wife relationship, that is what's going to happen, someone must submit. He may have went about it the wrong way, but it needed to happen for a plethora of reasons.

When a woman says a man does not listen to her, she means he does not take her advice. Just because you listen to someone, does not mean you must take their advice, it is just hearing the advice. He may do something different, that does not mean he did not listen. That means he just did not take her advice. It's not the same thing.
