  1. THEY ARE STILL ILLEGAL. The law of the Unites States IS that it is against the law to enter the US without the lawful status required and that THEY SHALL BE DETAINED UNTIL THEIR STATUS IS DETERMINED, if not deported. Most of these people will NEVER qualify for asylum.
