He added that the “results of US investments” in Ukraine would be destroyed. Medvedev alleged that the US has been eyeing Ukraine’s raw materials and minerals for future exploitation, which he said Vladimir Zelensky bet on in the “victory plan” he offered Western backers. According to Financial Times, the plan included offers of potential business deals, access to Ukraine’s natural resources, and “investment screening” powers for the US, all intended as an incentive to ensure Washington’s continued cooperation with Kiev following a change in the occupant of the White House.
