  3. Let me start with some disturbing and stunning news out of Ukraine, courtesy of Russia’s Ministry of Defense. Ukraine has lost more than 700,000 personnel (i.e., KIA, WIA and AWOL) in the last six months: ▪ Over the past six months, the monthly sanitary and irreplaceable losses of AFU manpower have consistently amounted to about 50,000 people and more (January 2025 – 51960 people, December 2024 – 48470 people, November 2024 – 60805 people, etc.). ▪ At the same time, the number of new recruits in the AFU training centers, even taking into account the “activation” of TCCs throughout Ukraine, has been barely reaching 30,000 people per month for about half a year, who are sent to the line of contact without proper training, which leads to a reduction in the number of AFU personnel. ▪ According to official data, about 100,000 Ukrainian military personnel have left their military units unauthorized and gone on the run. Ukraine’s military is literally bleeding to death. These are unsustainable losses. Making matters worse is the political chaos unfolding in Kiev. A criminal case alleging corruption has been opened on Ukraine’s Defense Minister Umerov while Ukraine’s SBU has opened a criminal case against Kirill Budanov, Chief of the Main Directorate of Intelligence of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Budanov is being investigated after media reports appeared detailing his warning to members of the RADA that if peace talks do not begin soon Ukraine will not survive the summer. Looks like it is a crime to tell the truth in Ukraine. - sonar21

  4. Turning to the mid-air collision over the Potomac River last night (Thursday). There is more disturbing news. I have corrected my mistake in my article last night. I learned subsequently that the helicopter was flying south, not north. Apparently, the chopper had flown to CIA headquarters in McLean, Virginia and was returning to base at Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Pete Hegseth is stalling the release of the name of the pilot who was flying the chopper. Turns out the pilot is a woman with only 500 hours of flight time. As of now, the Department of Defense has refused to identify the woman, which suggests that Trump’s claim that DEI was a possible reason for the collision may be on target. Despite claims that she was an experience pilot, a report from a retired Black Hawk pilot and Crew Chief (it is posted at The Gateway Pundit) tells a different tale: *The single-greatest error in this accident was the decision to fly without a second Crew Chief on the left-hand side of the Blackhawk, who could have provided an extra set of eyes to “look out-and-up” to see the approaching American Airlines Passenger plane. *Night Vision Goggle (NVG) flights result in a sort-of “tunnel vision” for all who wear the NVGs and normal policy in many Army flight units is to force a full crew of 2 pilots and 2 crew chiefs for all NVG flights, so that you always have “eyes out” to both sides of the aircraft, when flying in those conditions. While not mandatory, it is the proper safety call, especially when flying in the vicinity of a busy, major airport such as Reagan Airport (DCA). No matter how competent the pilots and Crew Chiefs may be, this flight needed a second Crew Chief on the left side of the chopper. . . . *Known mistakes by the Blackhawk Flight Crew point to a lack of experience and/or competence. We’ve heard in the media that both pilots were “experienced.” This is just not true. Someone is “blowing smoke” to the media, to President Trump, and to Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, to “cover their ass.” The collective level of experience of the pilots was not impressive. Their level of experience is like comparing a rookie in the NFL to a second-year player. The pilot had the experience of a second-year player, while the co-pilot was a rookie. This was NOT an experienced crew to be flying at night, near a major airport, without a second crew chief. - sonar21
