Russia’s Defense Ministry has released footage of a Su-34 bomber plane dropping FAB-500 glide munitions, which have been hailed as a game-changer in the Ukraine conflict for their destructive potential and deployment range of up to 80km. In a video that appears to be shot from a camera attached to the side of an aircraft, several bombs can be seen dropping and then deploying their wings shortly thereafter. The bombs are equipped with a special unified planning and correction module (UMPC), which turns regular free-falling bombs into guided glide munitions. In Kursk Region, Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups also tried to cross the border near the village of Tyotkino at around 8am local time, the ministry said.
