  2. From a Russian national perspective, there is little, if anything, about which to disagree with Putin. His recent address to the Russian people shows his concern as well as the active measures he is implementing to support families and soldiers. It is rare for a country to have a leader who is not trying to survive being in office or using the office for his personal benefit. There is no hope for US/Russian relations. The budget and power of the US military/security complex, a powerful lobby encompassing the armaments industry, the Congress elected by campaign contributions, and the CIA and FBI, depends on having an enemy. Russia is the enemy of choice. Another reason is that US foreign policy in the Middle East is controlled by the Israel Lobby, second in power only to the US military/security complex and often united with it. Putin has the concept of good and evil. He is learning that in the West he faces evil. The Russian Church sees it as well and supports him. The Russian people understand that they face a threat from Washington’s empire, the response to which requires national unity. - LewRockwell

At the time, the US was rushing military aid to Israel.   7. The West just can’t handle the truth — i.e., Vladimir Putin enjoys great popularity and easily won re-election. The whining and carping from Western political leaders filled the legacy media as they insisted Russia held a sham, illegal election. Boo hoo. After the debacle in 2020 and the subsequent imprisonment of hundreds of Trump supporters with unfounded charges of insurrection, the United States is in no position to lecture any other country about free and fair elections. It is hypocrisy on steroids. Prior to the election, Western pollsters learned, much to their surprise, that Putin held an 86% favorability rating. Almost eight out of ten eligible Russians voted in the Presidential election and gave Putin 87% of the vote. The Russian police and military were not roaming the cities and towns forcing people to the polls nor are Russians who do not vote threatened with economic or criminal sanctions. Even the voters in the war-torn republics of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporhyzhia turned out in force to vote. One of the most remarkable moments in the aftermath of the election was Vladimir Putin appearing in Red Square with the three opposition political candidates who ran against him. All four men spoke to the crowd and pledged their allegiance to Mother Russia.
