Trump named Fox News host, Pete Hegseth, as his nominee for Secretary of Defense. Wow!! Hegseth, apart from having served in the Army, has no experience managing a gargantuan bureaucracy like the Department of Defense. What the hell is Trump thinking? I think it is simple — he is installing loyalists in key positions who are not compromised by or beholden to the military industrial complex or the defense lobbyists in DC. I know one of those lobbyists (we used to be neighbors) and I guarantee you he is livid tonight. Trump is sending the Deep State an unmistakable message — I will be running the show.
Hegseth also is not a creature of one of the many Washington “think tanks,” which are funded in large measure by the military industrial complex and the Zionist lobby. Trump did not select Hegseth because the former Army officer has a great plan for reforming the bloated, corrupt U.S. defense complex. He chose him because Hegseth is expected to follow orders and do what Trump wants.
Trump also named former Congressman and former Director of National Intelligence (aka DNI), John Ratcliffe, as the nominee to head up the CIA. That is an excellent choice in my view. Ratcliffe is a straight shooter and not a self-seeker aspiring to be President, like Mike Pompeo. By virtue of his previous stint as the DNI , Ratcliffe knows where some of the bodies are buried at CIA and will play a key role in releasing the JFK files.
While I’m willing to give Trump the benefit of the doubt, I stand by my belief that if Trump takes the US to war in Iran or China, he will destroy his Presidency, and possibly the nation. My advice, let’s wait-and-see what Trump does his first week in office. At that point, if I am wrong, I will take the drubbing I deserve. Until then, keep your powder dry. Trump is trying to do something with the bloated US Government that has never been attempted, at least until now. - sonar21

A Russian missile strike has reportedly hit a location in Ukraine’s Sumy Region, where Kiev’s troops had gathered in preparation for deployment to Russia’s Kursk Region.
The Iskander missile strike hit reinforcements slated to join several Ukrainian brigades in Kursk Region, Vladimir Rogov, who leads a Russian body for the integration of former Ukrainian regions, told RIA Novosti on Wednesday. He added that several dozen troops were killed or injured in the attack, while multiple pieces of military hardware were damaged.
A video shared with RT by a source on condition of anonymity purportedly shows the moment of the strike, filmed from a reconnaissance drone. The source estimated Ukrainian casualties at up to 60. The strike reportedly took place on Tuesday.
The authenticity of the video was verified later in the day by the Defense Ministry, which said the strike took place near the village of Ivolzhanskoye, some 12km from the Russian border. The attack was timed with the delivery of munitions for Ukrainian forces, it said. The statement did not confirm the weapons used, but said multiple missile strikes were involved. - RT

The Russian military has destroyed five Ukrainian tanks in Russia’s Kursk Region over the past 24 hours, the Defense Ministry in Moscow reported on Tuesday.
During the same period, Kiev has lost more than 300 troops, four infantry fighting vehicles, four artillery pieces, a counter-battery radar station, and other hardware, the ministry added.
Russian forces have been advancing in the areas of the settlements of Daryino, Leonidovo, Malaya Loknya, Nikolaevo-Daryino, and Novoivanovka. Seven Ukrainian counterattacks have also been repelled, according to a statement from the ministry.
Russian aviation and artillery reportedly struck Ukrainian troops in more than two dozen locations across Kursk Region. Air and missile strikes were also carried out against military concentrations in Ukraine’s Sumy Region, which borders Russia, the ministry added.
Kiev’s total losses in just over three months since the launch of its incursion in Kursk Region have reached over 31,700 servicemen, 200 tanks, 131 infantry fighting vehicles, 110 armored personnel carriers and hundreds of pieces of various other equipment, including 11 US-supplied HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, the Russian military stated. - RT
