Senior military officials in Kiev were responsible for shooting down a Russian transport plane that was carrying Ukrainian prisoners of war for an exchange earlier this year, Russia’s Investigative Committee said on Tuesday. The Ilyushin Il-76M aircraft was downed by a US-made Patriot interceptor missile on January 24, according to Russian investigators. All those on board, including 65 POWs, three Russian guards, and six crew members, were killed in the crash. The committee said it had collected enough evidence to accuse Ukrainian military commanders and the leadership of the country’s military intelligence directorate, the GUR. They “knew for certain” that a prisoner swap was due to happen and “ordered the destruction of the plane” nevertheless, officials claimed. - RT

  2. Surveillance footage published by Russian media purportedly shows a deadly Ukrainian missile strike on a beach in Russia’s Sevastopol last weekend. The images, which some people may find disturbing, were shared by the newspaper Komsomolskaya Pravda on Tuesday. The attack was recorded from different angles in Uchukuevka, a beach town on the coast of the Black Sea. The strike killed five people, including at least two children, and injured more than 150 others, according to Russian officials. Splashes can be seen off the coastline in the first part of the video, presumably from explosive submunitions released by the missile. At least one bomblet landed on the beach and detonated, as panicked people were running for safety. One person attempted to stand up before falling back down and lying motionless. In the second part of the footage, a man can be seen pulling a child to the ground and shielding them. Russia described the missile strike as an act of terrorism and issued a formal protest to US Ambassador to Moscow Lynne Tracy. - RT

  3. Hundreds of wrecks of armored vehicles, tanks and other war equipment were strewn along the street in Ocheretino outside Avdeevka. Most of the wreckage of the destroyed vehicles was Western equipment, especially the US with a fantastic number. This shows the intensity of the fierce fighting going on here and NATO-Ukrainian forces surrendered, turning Ocheretino into a graveyard for their vehicles. - Military Tube Today
