I had a tree in the middle of my garden in boroondara and requested it cut down The council wanted a tree expert to look at this tree which i had to pay $110 for him to show up. He said it was a Lebanese cypress and so it is a significant tree. The following year, the tree was struck by lightning and fell on to my living room!! Luckily i was in my bedroom. If i were to be crushed, would the council be liable???
