I'll tell you what age has to do with it we who have been around for a while have seen much more than you and can recognize patterns that you have not seen repeated more than once and furthermore lived as adults for an extended period of time in a much safer world and in fact helped run that same world. Like an all healthy societies younger people should be turning to older people for advice it does not mean that you race to the past but it means that you honor the wisdom of older people. And if you don't want to call it wisdom call it decades more time to learn

I for example went to Catholic School k through 8 and myself and a lot of the people that I went to Catholic school with turned out better (on average) than the people who didn't. You shouldn't condemn an entire religion and huge group of people because of your negative experiences
