@Electronzap George Will referred to as the pathological history of the West. It's like if somebody wrote a biography about you based on the five moments of your life that you're least proud of.

@patrickbertlein4626 they're not one single thing positive about teaching one group of kids to view themselves as victims with no agency and another group to feel crappy about themselves because of the actions of their great great great great great great great grandfather's.

@doob62 I'm afraid you do not understand the Marxist left. This was never an attempt to prevent something from happening again, something that in fact is extremely unlikely to reoccur. This is always been about sowing division because division and breaking a society up into every smaller waring groups is how the left the achieves power in every country where they've managed to. This is far more sinister than it might appear on the surface. If you know the history of the last stretching back about 120 years they are consistent in their approach to breaking down a society.

@patrickbertlein4626 I'm sorry but there is no need to do more than was being done in the past. I went to a conservative Catholic School in the 60s and the conservative high School in the 70s in a conservative small town and I learned all about the civil War slavery, the slave trade reconstruction Jim Crow, the terrible treatment of the Indians all of it. It's also been the subject of a million documentaries, books, movies and miniseries. It's just a lie that this history was hidden until the left decided to explain it all to us in the most divisive and society destroying way. This is all about using division as a path to power which is what marxists do

@kurtcpi5670 it only persisted for 60 years in certain parts of the country. Long before the civil War all the northern states had already either ended slavery or begun a processed and slavery. This was part of a larger cultural change within Western Civilization where post enlightenment thinkers realize that slavery was wrong and said about ending it. The American South with a lone holdout because of the extreme economic advantages to the people running in the south. The British empire did more than slavery than pretty much any other entity on Earth.

@patrickbertlein4626 the fact of the matter is slavery is at least 5 1/2 thousand years old that we know about and it was us in the west who finally woke up to the fact that it was wrong and ended it in wide swaths of the world. Outside the West at still exists in some places including parts of Africa. The wes should be thanked not condemned
