@Togo-420 civil disobedience means breaking the law to make a point and if you're going to engage in civil disobedience it's understood that you're likely to be arrested because whatever you're doing is not protected by the first amendment.

@yolandabrinkman2653 if you look at the original borders of Israel at one point Israel was less than 10 miles wide. That's was an impossible situation to deal with if your neighbors were going to routinely invade you. I wholeheartedly agree with what they did it was a matter of survival. Not to mention I always like to ask people if the Arabs had won any of those wars do you think they would have given the land back? No they would have annihilated the Jews and took it all.

@presage23 will OSHA has absolutely nothing to do with monopolies and trusts. If you look at a graph of industrial accidents from the time that OSHA was founded you see a sharp downhill curve. If you look at a graph of the data and include the 50 years before OSHA became a thing you see the same decreasing line would almost the exact same slope as after OSHA was created. Private Business were already eliminating industrial accidents that a rapid rate because they don't want to get sued and private insurance companies pressure them into making safety improvements. So what exactly did OSHA accomplished besides spending a lot of our money and hamstringing businesses with rules that sometimes don't have anything to do with safety?

@yolandabrinkman2653 I agree with most of your post but point in fact world war I did not cost them their land world war 1 ended the reign of the Ottoman empire who had their foot on their neck for a long time. The only reason that the British got involved was because of the collapse of the Ottoman empire which meant that the entire ruling system was gone. British rule of the area was very temporary and only lasted about 30 years.

@toitoi3928 I'm a walking talking encyclopedia of history and likely know o 100 times more than you about it. Unless of course you too have read approximately 1,000 works of nonfiction history and watced 100 of the better made historical documentaries (not the slack masquerading as documentaries that are all over TV now) and grew up in a household full of bright people or history was constantly discussed. I also cultivate friendships with other people who are extremely knowledgeable in history and like to talk about it, two of them are multiple authors. So if we disagree on a historical point you should probably just assume that you're wrong

The thing that almost everyone disagreeing with my interpretation of History have in common is that they're wrong, often laughably so. As for my opinions I've been forming my own opinions since I was in my late teens some number of decades ago now. And you don't even want to know about the quality of the other side of my brain which is actually well ahead of the side that involves reading and comprehension. Intellectually you're closer to an insect than you are to me
