@KeiPalace the good worker quits he's not recognized and rewarded for what he's doing. I doubt you've ever been one to go the extra mile
2
@gmh471 I've seen very little of that mostly what I've seen is the people that work really hard and are smart are the ones who advanced. You're a good companies and there are bad companies and there are good managers and they're are bad managers
2
So tell me you were an employee with a very bad attitude without telling me that you are an employee with a really bad attitude. You wouldn't have lasted under me
2
@EphemeralProductions I always thought that a long drawn on hiring process with just a matter of the hiring manager not making it a priority. I generally fill my positions in about half the time that other managers did and had better results to begin with
2
@sneakerdad1020 as a guy who managed people for a long time I'm suspect that you just weren't very good
2
@jdroofcleanpw well it's unrealistic to expect that the CEO is going to be involved in your career personally. The appreciation comes from your immediate Superior and likely him/her boss as well
2
@rooksey09 working your ass off is kind of an entry-level requirement for moving up to higher levels of pay and better jobs. So you keep believing that and not giving 100% and see how that works out for you
2
@lexicat6177 this kind of attitude is why you're not succeeding
2
I do not believe you and that was never my experience
1
@rhiannonh.7463 well you see the way that you get ahead is if you do the work faster than other people you take on additional tasks that provide value to the company to fill the rest of your day. I wouldn't be able to use somebody who just sat around after they finished
1
@dencos123 what a bad attitude
1
@amyraszipovits810 it's not necessarily an instant gratification thing. It's how you move up and do better over the long term
1
@alpal90-r7xyou will also get ahead faster than the people who sit on their ass like I imagine you do
1
@AbbyBane. I can honestly say I've never heard that or heard of anybody saying it and I was in a management for decades
1
@OvertheGarage-wv1wn why would they pay people who are lazy and do a little work as possible more money they're lucky they don't get fired. I in fact wood fire them
1
@markboler8411 I simply don't believe that.
1
@rhiannonh.7463 you don't seem to understand how any of this works. When I was up and coming I also was really good and really fast and got stuff done quickly and then I just did more stuff, sought out if I had to. You don't just sit around getting paid not doing anything. This was noticed and I moved up consistently. Were their periods where I was making the same money as the people around me who are getting a lot less done sure but it didn't last very long. You need to show value and nobody likes people who sit around doing nothing no matter how much they already got done when you're being paid you. work. I've never seen such a bunch of cry babies and complainers
1
@OvertheGarage-wv1wn you get paid what you get paid if you want to change that you need to do better than the people around you it's as simple as that
1
@ShootingUtah life isn't fair but the cream eventually rises to the top just make sure you're the cream not someone sitting around complaining that things aren't happening for you in 20 minutes
1
@creaseconquer3364 congratulations you've developed the perfect plan for having a life of grunt work. Work your ass off look for things to do when you get your own work done show a good attitude and things will change in a positive way for you not overnight but they will. If you can't be bothered you're somebody I would get rid of it the first opportunity.
1
@creaseconquer3364 further confirming my opinion that you are doing to a life of grunt work with that attitude. I started out making s*** busted my balls and wound up making 10 times what I started out making. I would definitely with you out
1
@creaseconquer3364 you have confirmed my opinion that you will not advance. You would be one of the first people that I let go
1
@jeremyemilio9378 I work fast efficiently and constantly got more work as a result of it and that's one of the reasons besides my skill that I was constantly promoted and eventually wound up running substantial things. Your attitude is the attitude of a loser. If I was your boss you'd never get promoted.
1
@Lenore-y1l only lousy blossoms promote people based on that kind of criterion for killing there's a lot of lousy bosses
1
@Anyone-c5ithat person's manager is not doing their job. Nobody likes letting people go because it's dramatic for everybody else on the team but letting something like this fester is far worse in the long run.
1
@Anyone-c5iwell I was in management here in the United States for many years and people are always given multiple chances to improve with a lot of the help coming directly from me. I've used the leave the person in a crappy job method to get rid of people to avoid having to fire someone which causes lots of ripples through the team. Managers who do not eventually remove subpar employees are just bad at their job
1
@Lightweaver123 yes I'm such a horrible manager that my people stayed with me two or three times the average length for employees at my company and many are still in contact with me years after they worked for me. I developed, promoted and groomed them for larger rolls with many going on to be key subject matter experts, managers, directors vice presidents etc. the teams I built were considered to be the elite of the corporation in a key and difficult space. I did this at ever-increasing levels of responsibility and did it for decades. Pardon me for being far better at this stuff than you.
1
@Lightweaver123 by the way the people that did not last under me the people that I had to get rid of were a total of three people over 25 years.
1
@Lightweaver123 I was such a bad manager that my people stayed with me for two or three times the corporate average and on three occasions I had three people who worked for me and left for greener pastures come back to work for me again. I groomed them and trained them for higher positions and many went on to be key subject matter experts, managers directors, vice presidents etc. several are still in contact with me years after they worked for me and have thanked me for the management practices, particularly hiring practices, that they learned from me. The people I had to get rid of were a total of three people over a quarter of a century. I did this while being a major player on the corporate stage in a key and very complex disapline. Nice try
1
@Outriley I could manage circles around you sir. My management skills got me promoted over and over to the point where I was responsible for 6 billion dollars worth of property and casualty and healthcare spending for one of the world's largest corporations. You're an insulting amateur compared to me.
1
@Outriley once again the insulting amateur strikes
1
@tbkswagg once again the insulting amateur comes back with a post full of nonsense. The reason I'm not posting arguments is because I'm not arguing with you I'm dismissing you
1
@Lightweaver123 yawn
1
Yes just do very little have a bad attitude and expect good things to happen for you and your career that'll work out great for you
1
sleepybear-me like you have a clue what it takes to be good at management
1
When I got job Hopper resumes I threw them in the trash
1
I had a very long and comprehensive three part first interview process and basically had selected my candidates after it and the second interviews was more of a formality and to make sure that the guy didn't like fall all over himself in the second interview. .
1
@jdroofcleanpw in a big company the appreciation that you need is from your immediate boss and his boss. In an atmosphere of young people with bad attitudes aren't willing to give 100% you could certainly do very well by working your ass off. It will differentiate you from the pack
1
@lexicat6177 laugh out loud I'm virtually never wrong one of my nicknames Is The answer Man. But then I have wide and vast experience incredible education multiple degrees read everything etc. no I don't hear you're wrong very often
1
@lexicat6177 you are not a rocket scientist but I however am everything I say I am and then some. Find someone more on your level to argue with
1
@lexicat6177 virtually never actually
1
@jdroofcleanpw I can tell you don't have much experience in a big organization. The tops of strategic direction but the people who manage your career are one and two levels above you. Also you act as if a private owner of a company is not going to be interested in profits the same way that the shareholder owners of the company are. If you work for a company that doesn't reward its employees look for another company work your ass off go the extra mile and if you're not rewarded find someplace else that will reward you. I think you'll find that most places do
1
@lexicat6177 please do not further expose me to your inferior mind
