  1. There are people who think they are too good to rent, ever. They think renting is ALWAYS stupid. They are just ignorant. I think this also has a lot to do with how people grew up. If they grew up in a household where the family always owned and everyone they associated with owned, they think renting is automatically always a horrible choice. Like I said... ignorant. (And prideful, but those two things often go together.)
