  1. I've found that safety depends on one's definition. For example, I was in Colombia when the pandemic started and the quarantine there was strict and quickly implemented. It's kept the covid numbers down, but the lifestyle was untenable under the new rules. So, I left to the USA where the covid numbers are out of control, but I'm able to find a safe place to live in the countryside on a lake where my lifestyle is back to normal. So, safety is relative and related to what people are looking for in their lifestyle. You could be safe from covid by living under a dictator, or safe from depression by maintaining your lifestyle during a pandemic. The choice is one's own.
