I've found that, yes, every country is a lot more corrupt than you would think. However, the more you focus on yourself while traveling, the less you will concern yourself the goings-on of corrupt governments. You'll find that their actions are nearly as important to your life as you once thought they were, and you'll see that a lot their misgivings are Kabuki theater designed to remove your focus from yourself. Travel has taught me that I have the power, not some elected, self-serving donkey or elephant.
