  1. I remember being taught that America is the greatest country on Earth in the history of the world and everywhere else is bad and dangerous and a waste of time. Then I left the country and learned more about the world in two weeks than my first 20+ years of education. America still has plenty to offer, but the world has caught up in almost every respect and surpassed us in many. Leaving the USA is one of my favorite things to do now.

  2.  @tigervalley62  It's a part of the American public education system. It's not that hard to understand, if you can see how your own education influenced your perceptions of the world.
