The residency in Mexico was quite easy to get, but yes, it does require apostilles and certified forms, interviews, and running back and forth to immigration until you finally get your card 😁 but it's all well worth it to have it

@himpoet yeah, as an American, Mexico isn't the place that's going to save me money on taxes, but its a good residency option that's close to home. If you haven't spent time in Nicaragua, i highly recommend it. Andrew mentioned San Juan del Sur and it's a really cool place, small town feel but lots of restaurants and a gorgeous beach with easy excursions to places like Ometepe and more secluded beaches for surfing. It's got all of that Costa Rica vibe without the overpriced landscape and horde of tourists.
