  2. You're right, the capital cities in central and South America often have weird vibes. What I do to stay safe from these gun point situations is carry a dummy wallet with a few bucks and some useless cards stuff in it...I also carry a second phone that can only be used on straighttalk in the usa. If someone ever jumps me with a gun, I'll gladly hand them both

  5.  @missionelpaso3766  yes I understand I can't prepare for every single situation imaginable. I've been traveling for years with my daughter by my side and have never had a problem. I use other precautions, but I don't share them all.

  6.  @missionelpaso3766  I imagine it would be very difficult to deal with in the moment. I definitely don't want a gun or knife in my face. Much better to lose the cash and a backpack than your life, smart to hand it over.
