  1. Not to mention the Australian ships complete with ski jumps up the front that are slightly bigger than the Japanese ships. They are definitely not aircraft carriers either, the ski jumps are just there for aesthetic effect and they honestly weren't added to the ships to assist planes to take off.

  3. Have a look at the biggest fast catamaran ferries made by companies like Incat. Their 110 and 130 metre designs have huge garages for cars and trucks which could be fitted with hoists. They already have a flat top except for a small bridge which could be moved to one side to make way for a flight deck. https://www.incat.com.au/incat-vessels/096/

But countries with "helicopter carrying destroyers" like Japan and Australia can not call them aircraft carriers, even if they really are carriers, because China would be very upset and no one except the current American government wants to upset the Chinese. Spain has a carrier of a similar design to the Australian ships, but they are a long way from China, so they can call their ship an aircraft carrier.
