Promote tourism within the country, first. Give incentives to hotel business. Build more High-speed rail, as alternative to airlines. Edit: Govt should start PLI scheme for tourism.

@kalki.2032 Deficit is fine, if Quality of spending is good. Instead of freebies, giving incentives to these businesses, will create more GDP than the money, you spend. Nirmala Sitaraman actually gave cheap loans to tourism sector during pandemic. Same can be done again.

@kalki.2032 As long as the money is for capex and not for freebie, I think it's good. 1 crore in capex can create capacity for generating 2 crore business. The best brains are not doing because maybe they are saving money for something else. Perhaps, to fund recently announced freebies, or any disruption due to Trump's tariffs.
